SSBS offers a range of material property test work which include Particle Size Distribution (PSD), solids density and permeability (hydraulic conductivity) tests for characterization of tailings and backfill materials.
Test work capabilities also includes Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) test work for backfill applications. UCS tests are used to determine the strength development of potential backfill mixtures and binders. These tests are used to ultimately optimise backfill recipes for our clients by taking binder requirements as well as backfill flowability into consideration.
SSBS also offers binder quality test work to ensure that binder strength development conforms to the relevant standards.
